CHILDLINE

The PSO has been managing the CHILDLINE  a Collab agency of university with al toll free phone of 1098 to provide the best quality services to the children in crisis, distress or in other helpless conditions. The repatriation of 150 – 160 children in every month is a normal happening. This year such repatriation has exceeded up to 240. The Counseling, medical area, emotional support, legal aid and vocational training are being provided to the children through the childline. The District Collector is the chairman for the Childline’s City Advisory Board (CAB) and Department of Social work, Andhra University acts as the Nodal Agency to monitor the programme.

Such rescued children are repatriated their home in normal circumstances, in the event of their houses not being traced they would be sheltered in the “Shelter”. The Legal aid services are offered to rescue the children kept as servants or labors in houses or commercial establishments. During the Year 2006-2007 the recorded cases of 20 for legal rescue is the good sign of the intervention of childline in extreme emergencies of child rescue and protection.
