VTC Cum Residential School for Disabled

The decade long existence of this school has recorded major success during this year. The annual intake has risen phenomenally from a normal 100 to 120 students. Majority number of students trained in VTC has obtained gainful employment and the linkages with outscoring agents and employers have been quite satisfactory. The students are trained in our center are faring well in their work situations. From 1994 onwards the VTC have been enrolling the disabled Youth and children. Every year right from its inception an average of 150 disabled persons enroll fro training in various vocational courses like Tailoring, Typing, computer, printing and Bookbinding. The Residential school has been designed to accommodate 500 disabled children in the category of Orthopedic handicapped and Deaf & Dum are given admission for both academic and skill education. The “Vikalanga Pranganam” a huge residential complex at landscape and valley ambiance that provides quality training to the young people. The ultimate is to impart vocational skills to the Disabled and make them self – sustainable.

This year center has organized disabled rehabilitation awareness camp at Pendurthi, which witnessed the presence of disabled people from all over the district. The school premises has got modernized during the year with more buildings, gardens, playground, a resource center for disabled to render value added services.

A cultural and sport meet has been organized on the eve of Christmas celebrations where an estimated 500 people drawn from different schools have participated.
